Whenever I think of Guardian, I think of “pharmacy” (can’t help it!). This is the main place where I stock up on medication and vitamin supplements for the whole family; but they now also stock a serious line-up of beauty products, including brands that you can only get at Guardian stores.

Trends in beauty buying habits from your customers?

Our customers are very in tune with beauty trends and are always on a look out for new beauty products. To cater to the changing needs of our customers, we have brought in products from international brands that are only available at Guardian.

As a beauty destination for our customers, we have also conducted demonstration workshops for participants to share with them the latest beauty tips and up-and-coming beauty products.

What will be the next big thing in beauty?

We predict the next big thing in the beauty industry marries both beauty and health together. It has long been said that beauty comes from within and we have slowly seen that coming to life in the latest trends with natural makeup and the “bare face” bandwagon popularised by Hollywood celebrities.

Skincare continues to play a big part in the beauty industry; we continue to innovate with our own skincare products including Crystal Moist and LipHop, which both hail from the ultimate beauty destination, Korea, and to bring in international skincare products that are exclusive to Guardian.

With the emphasis on health, we also see that beauty products suitable for an active lifestyle will become increasingly popular in time to come, as health and wellness become an integral part of daily life, and as more people engage in a fitness-oriented lifestyle. We can expect to see more beauty products with properties that protect our bodies from harmful exposure outdoors. These include sun protection, anti-pollutant and hydrating products. Beauty products featuring waterproof, sweatproof, and anti-pollutant properties will also be in trend to help us look good and fresh while working out.
