Rouge Volupté Rock’N Shine is YSL Beauty’s New Lipstick Star

This year, we see the coolest, edgiest rendition of the iconic YSL lipstick — the YSL Beauty Rouge Volupté Rock’N Shine! It has the same melty shine finish, smooth glide, hydrating comfort and signature YSL Beauty mango scent as the original lipstick, but with a silver star “glitter” centre that runs through the middle of the product. And this is plant-sourced glitter — a new generation of glitters derived from cellulose and eucalyptus.

The result is lips that are wrapped with a thin glitter film that feels immediately moisturising, and sparkles — just like the rockstar this lipstick is. The silver packaging has also been updated with a shimmery cap, which is as dazzling as the lipstick within.

Once again, we’ve put these lipsticks in the expert hands of celebrity makeup artist, Peter Khor and this is what he has to say:
“This is a good lipstick if you just want a hint of colour, but lots of shine and hydration. It’s easy to use and easy to wear.”

EXPERT TIPS FROM PETER:
- Apply a layer of the lipstick, then blot it with tissue. Then add a second layer of lipstick on top for a stronger and smooth colour.
- Use the lipstick straight from the tube, by patting or swiping it directly onto lips. The glitter from the star will come out stronger this way.
- The shade “13 Silver Mix” has a barely-there colour, so Peter applied three layers to achieve the subtle hue on Nadia’s lips.
