Not sure if you guys have already picked up on the silent trend that has been quietly bubbling among the beauty community… but orange eyeshadows are slowly taking over their once trending peach cousin. (Colourpop’s monochromatic collection in Nectar is the classic example.) Twas’ a peachy good time, but as with fleeting trends all we can do is embrace the vogue of the moment, which just so happens to be the vibrant, vivid shade that we are more than glad to get creative with.

Now, orange shades aren’t that much different from peachy shades. They do after all, belong in the same colour family anyway. What stands oranges out from peaches is that they are usually used as a pop-of-colour shade rather than a full eye look, and are likely to be more saturated and neon as opposed to a soft, flirty peach shade. Think of it this way: if peaches are for romantic date nights, then oranges are for fun, energetic festival parties.

Here are some ways that you could wear the trend:

A monochromatic look focusing on the eyes and lips, with orange and pink blended out in the crease and a shimmer shade on the lids. That includes a pale orange blush that looks sooooo flattering too.

Something about orange and royal blue that goes so well together…

Go for a sparkling tangerine-themed cut crease, and add depth to the look with a warm brown eyeshadow.

Not one for a full shimmer lid? Dab the shiniest gold glitter you have right in the middle of the upper and bottom lid for a spotlight effect.

A classic combination of gold shimmer and orange, with colours on the outer corners getting darker and more saturated.

Not everything has to be glitter and gold; a full-on matte look is cute too. Use a dark, pink-er grapefruit-orange shade in on the lids, while a true yellow-based citrus colour in the crease, blended out lightly for a sunset on the eyes look.

And if you’re keen on hopping on board, here are some products to help get you started:
