I buy a lot of random stuff on Lazada, especially when there’s an occasion coming up. It all started when I was moving house and had all these home projects in mind. For example, I wanted to create a wall of instant photos, and so went on the site and bought 10 boxes of Fujifilm Instax Mini refills. I was so pleased that I got them at a good price that since then, I now make it a point to check any future purchases on Lazada to see if the website has the same thing I want but cheaper. Here’s another example: when my kid’s birthday came along, I bought a pack of 20 party blowers for $3.34 with free shipping (!). Amazing. And my most recent purchase was a Petty Flen organic baby balm from Korea; and it’s not bad, for a surprise purchase I didn’t plan on making. The whole site, in general, is full of surprises and all sorts of random items you didn’t know you could buy online. As for beauty products, you’ve been warned, once you enter the rabbit hole that is Lazada, it’s pretty hard to get out.

At the moment, Mamonde sells to shoppers in Singapore exclusively through Lazada.sg.

Apart from excitement towards newly launched brands like Mamonde, shoppers tend to buy products that are exclusively launched on site. For example, Laneige recently launched their Lip Sleeping Mask exclusively on Lazada.sg.

What will be the next big thing in beauty?

Korean beauty is big on Lazada. We see shoppers wanting products that have a natural finish, and leaning towards items that are made with environmentally-friendly ingredients.
